We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a startup in the food production industry, specializing in seasonings, curry pastes, and powders. With a mission to bring authentic flavors to Myanmar and international markets, this role focuses on market research, feasibility studies, business model development, product innovation, marketing, and business development. Ideal for a strategic, results-driven leader with a passion for food products and a strong track record in market expansion.
Responsibilities
- Market Research & Feasibility: Conduct market research to identify local and global trends, consumer preferences, and competitor insights. Perform feasibility studies on pricing, risks, and distribution channels to guide market strategies.
- Business Model Development: Create business models for local market entry and international expansion, optimizing production, sourcing, and logistics to meet demand while managing costs.
- Product Development: Work with R&D and production teams to design, test, and launch new products, ensuring quality and compliance with international food safety standards. Innovate on flavor profiles, packaging, and presentation to stand out in the market.
- Marketing Strategy: Develop brand identity and marketing campaigns for local and international markets, leveraging digital platforms, social media, and trade shows to build awareness and loyalty.
- Business Development & Partnerships: Secure partnerships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers in key markets, build relationships with suppliers and regulatory bodies, and lead contract negotiations to maximize reach and profitability.
Requirement
- Education: Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, International Business, Food Science, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience: 8-10 years in a leadership role within food production or sales/distribution, with a focus on international markets and product development.
- Skills: Strong in strategic planning, market analysis, business model development, negotiation, and project management.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with food export regulations and market research tools.
- Competencies: Resourceful, proactive, able to adapt strategies, and skilled in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
